I am a strong believer in the importance of the mind body connection. Unfortunately, there often isn't enough time in the day to "do it all." What are we to do? Well, we must "sneak" in some me time where ever we can! Here is a breathing/mindfulness strategy that was shared with me that I think you may find helpful! Happy Breathing!
Have you found a way to take some time away from your electronics? If you can’t get away, try taking breath breaks. As you work on emails, each time you hit “send” take a breath break using a time-tested technique called “box breathing.” It is designed to be done in quiet, controlled settings, making it easy to practice anywhere.
Box breathing, is very simple and is also known as a “four square breathing.”
- Breathe in for four seconds
- Hold air in your lungs for four seconds
- Exhale for four seconds
- Hold your breath, lungs emptied, for four seconds.
